#Trustbuilding In Polyamorous/CNM Relationships Groot Hart Groep is grateful to have Martha Kauppi (WI, USA) join us in The Netherlands to share her knowledge and experiences with us! ##A Two Day Masterclass For Therapists This two day masterclass is a deep dive into supporting well-functioning consensual nonmonogamy (CNM) and polyamory in therapy. Topics covered will include: Unpacking five domains that contribute to flourishing CNM relationships. We will explore strategies for helping clients build the capacities that make a real difference; What goes into making a strong repair after broken agreements. We dive into how therapists can facilitate this process, and where it fits in the order of treatment; The skills that contribute to effective agreement-making so your clients are better able to keep the agreements they make; Working with an impasse, for instance differences between partners regarding opening or not opening the relationship. Expect short teaching segments, lots of active discussion and questions/answers, small group breakouts, clinical practice, case discussion, and cultural curiosity about how CNM-related challenges differ in our different cultures. Bring your questions and most difficult cases and clinical dilemmas! ##About Martha Kauppi Martha Kauppi is a marriage and family therapist, certified sex therapist, relationship coach, educator, author, and speaker. She has a lifelong career in health and sexuality, identifies as queer and polyamorous, and is in two relationships, each spanning over two decades. She is the author of Polyamory: A Clinical Toolkit for Therapists (and Their Clients). As the founding director of the Institute for Relational Intimacy, Martha’s dream is to debunk myths and harmful cultural constructs that disrupt intimate connections between partners. She aims to co-create a world in which it is easy to find a therapist who can work effectively with any relational intimacy challenge, including sex issues and consensual non-monogamies. To that end she develops and presents educational materials and coaching strategies based in theory and scientific knowledge while also being practical, effective, and immediately applicable. ##About Groot Hart Groep Groot Hart Group is a nonprofit cooperative of relationship therapists and coaches specialized in CNM. Together we build infrastructure to support each other in helping CNM-clients. Through intervision/peer supervision, themed info evenings, research on our population, a yearly symposium and more, we learn and grow together in our professional capacities. Our core mission is to strengthen the field of relationship care, so that CNM clients can be helped without prejudice and with knowledge and awareness of their specific experiences. ##For who is this This two day masterclass is suitable for mental health care workers, such as relationship therapists and coaches, psychologists, social workers, etc., who work with CNM/polyamory, or who prepare to do so in the near future.
